As the Associate Dean of Access, Diversity, and Inclusion at Princeton University, I served as the Chief Academic Diversity Officer for the Graduate School and had the responsibility of leading and creating the initiatives, curriculum, and programs that supported graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds.
During my tenure, I created extremely successful programs that changed the culture of inclusion at the Graduate School. More specifically, I developed and launched the Pre-doctoral Fellowship Program, The Graduate Scholars Program, The Inclusive Academy Symposium, and the BADI Awards. Moreover, under my leadership and direction, the GSP STEM Program launched, The Princeton Prospective PhD Preview (P3), and the Diversity Fellows Program were successfully redesigned and launched.
I have found building and designing programs and initiatives are key to creating a culture and community of belonging. They are not easy and require bold leadership and vision. I am truly passionate about it and find this work remarkably rewarding!
