My passion and expertise is centered around creating communities of belonging. I have had the unique opportunity to build programs that create a sense of place and space for students, faculty, and staff.
For example, I founded and developed the Inclusive Academy Symposium and The Best of Access, Diversity, and Inclusion Awards (BADI) which supports graduate students and post-doctoral scholars from underrepresented backgrounds, on an array of topics related to success in the academy and on the job market. The symposium focuses on bringing graduate students and post-doctoral scholars from underrepresented backgrounds together while also providing a platform to discuss critical topics for thriving and success through a holistic and intersectional lens.
The BADI awards honors and celebrates faculty, staff, post-docs, and graduate students who have made significant impacts in their community around diversity and inclusion.
